All praise to God for gifting us another year to be glad and magnify Him.
As 2023 begins, our continued focus will be to grow New Life Church not only in-house but throughout the community and beyond. It reads in Isaiah 54:2, that God speaks of how He’s going to enlarge and expand the church throughout all nations.
With this expansion we are asked to stretch ourselves even beyond what we are used to. At times it might be painful and our patience may be tested, but rest assured it is part of God’s glorious plan. I don’t know about you, but the end result WILL be worth the effort!
Starting January 9-29, we are offering a 21-day fast for anyone interested in participating. In addition, I will be conducting a 7-day prayer session beginning January 9 starting at 6:30pm-7:30pm at the church. This will be a powerful prayer tool to strength us during our personal and church expansion.Don’t forget to sign up for the Spiritual Check-up! If you did not receive the sign-up email, please click the box below to make your appointment.May God greatly bless each of you!

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
As you may know, I have always trusted in God’s promises to provide what we need in all areas of the church. This is especially true when it comes to finances. Holding fast to these promises, time and time again, God never fails to show up at the exact moment to meet, and even exceed, our needs.New Life Church is a living example of a generous, prayerful congregation who also believes and depends on God and His ability to give us what we need out of His love for us. I’m hoping you are just as excited as I am to see what God has planned in the days, months and years to come.I write this letter, with a grateful heart, to everyone within New Life Church and throughout our community who has given of themselves to grow God’s Kingdom through continued prayer and generous contributions. For those of you considering year-end giving, there are a number of planned projects that would greatly benefit by your generosity. Many blessings to you and your families as we wrap up 2022. Looking forward to worshiping with you on New Year’s Day at our regularly scheduled service times of 9:00am and 10:30am.Gratefully yours,Pastor John

Hello Church Family,
To wrap up each year, I quiet my thoughts and ask God to bring to my mind the significant things He laid out to teach me about the previous year. I ask Him to instruct me what changes He would have me make in the upcoming year. This year, I am inviting each of you to join me in this thought process as you close out 2022 and welcome in 2023. In addition, during the first few weeks in January, I would like to schedule a time to meet with you in an exercise I call A Spiritual Check-up.
“How did your check-up go?” That is a familiar question we have either asked someone or have been asked ourselves. Each year many of us will go through a physical check-up, a performance review at our workplace, perhaps do a financial check-up at year’s end or at tax time. But how often do we take time to review our lives and have an actual Spiritual check-up?
A spiritual check-up is like a physical check-up a doctor would give you and then write a prescription on acquiring good spiritual habits. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to get to know you on a more personal level as we walk together in our spiritual journey.
Appointment times will be scheduled in 30-minute increments from 6:00am – 8:00pm for the first three weeks in January. More information to follow.
Here’s wishing you the best check-up ever!
Pastor John

I recently read about a fellow Jesus-follower and Christian blogger who launched an annual Gratitude Challenge. Seeing as we are nearing the end of this year, perhaps we could begin one starting for the month of November and see where it goes from there.
My Monthly Gratitude Challenge…
Let’s begin by finding several things you are grateful for each day. You can either write them down or simply say a prayer of thanks. Gratitude is an excellent way to abide in the Lord as we look around for the blessings He pours into our lives.
When I look for God’s blessings in my life, I shift my eyes from what I might think I am lacking to recognize how much blessing God has poured out into my life.
All praise to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the
heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
Eph 1:3 (NLT)
Honestly, I have much to be grateful for. I am blessed with a beautiful wife and four awesome kids. I get to serve the Lord everyday here at New Life Church working on the front lines where spiritual battles are happening. I see God provide each and every day and experience Him at work each day without fail.
Can’t wait to hear about your blessings
With gratitude,
Pastor John

Hello
If this newsletter looks a bit different from those in the past, it is! I am changing up the format in hopes of engaging everyone in thought and inspirational sharing…
Let’s look at the need for good news, are you in?
It seems lately when we turn on the TV or read the headlines there is such heaviness and heartache all around us. It’s during these times many of us begin to feel physically, emotionally, mentally, and maybe even spiritually drained. This is where we who believe in the hope of Jesus Christ and have put our trust in Him, know God is still in control in all things. We trust He’s bringing good out of what appears to be bad. So today seems like the perfect day to turn our focus from the bad and to celebrate the good.
So, I invite you to answer any or all of the following questions:
What good have you witnessed recently? What good has God brought in your life? What good has God prompted you to do for another?
I’ll go first, my neighbors recently experienced a situation that turned their lives upside down. Both husband and wife were hospitalized with no outside family to help with care. Although they are very private people, God pressed it upon my heart to supply food, care packages and rides to the hospital for visits (the wife remains hospitalized). I did not know the affect this would have on all of us, but God did. Seeing the pure joy in their eyes at each visit is absolutely priceless. The husband cried with thankfulness. God always knows what’s good, doesn’t He?
Now it’s your turn! Hit reply and please share your response with me. I can’t wait to read it. Good news is good for the soul!
Like a drink of cool water to a weary, thirsty soul, so hearing good news revives the spirit. Proverbs 25:25
Thank you for sharing your good news!
Blessings,
Pastor John
P.S.: Good news can translate to great news if you water it and let it grow.
